Indiana Rallies for 1-0 Victory
In a low-scoring contest between the Indiana Big Daddies and the St. John's Kaisers, Alfonso Méndez, who is tied for 5th in the USCBA COL in quality starts with 5, proved to be the difference. The Indiana right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Big Daddies win. Méndez yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-2. Picking up the save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Lucas.

Indiana needed the clutch hitting of Adam Stokes to notch the win. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Big Daddies on top, 1-0. For the game, Stokes had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Méndez.

Indiana, at 20-25, sits in 9th place in the Perfect 10 Conference.
