Mark Atkinson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Penn State Pride from being beaten, 6-5, to the Colorado Herd at Flat Iron Field. Atkinson hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Colorado is in third place in the Western 10 Conference with a record of 24-21.

Colorado got a clutch hit from Miguel Díaz. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"I had a good feeling about this game even before we took the field," Díaz, who is rated as the 83rd best prospect by BNN, told the Colorado News. "I'm glad it wasn't just gas."
