USC pitcher Brandon Waddell did his part in helping his team beat the Stanford Axe, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Waddell, now 2-5, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. USC, with the win, is 13-31.
Vic Rodríguez, who is tied for 5th in the USCBA COL in triples with 4, aided the USC cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a triple and a walk.
Rodríguez said afterward that "winning is the goal."
