Scarlet Brutes Claim 4-3 Win
|
The Ohio State Scarlet Brutes knocked off the Memphis Belles, 4-3, at Ballpark of Memphis. Pat Neal was a big reason Ohio State won. The shortstop was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Manolo Francisco, the winning pitcher, is now 4-4. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. The Scarlet Brutes raised their record to 25-19.
Neal had a key at-bat for Ohio State in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Ohio State an early 2-0 lead.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Ohio State skipper Randolph Snow. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
