In a tight contest between the St. John's Kaisers and the Rutgers Old Queens, Eliot Thompson was the determining factor. The St. John's left-hander sparkled in his team's 2-0 win. Erwin Doyle earned the save for St. John's, his 1st. St. John's is now 19-22.

St. John's won the game in part because of Tim Alexander. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kaisers ahead, 1-0. For the game, Alexander had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"All in all, I thought Eliot pitched a fine game for us tonight," said St. John's manager Álex Díaz.
