Chili Peppers Beat Rice, 6-5
The first-place UCLA Chili Peppers took on the Rice Puddings in front of a spirited crowd.

Despite a great performance by Rice first baseman Craig Bond, the UCLA Chili Peppers defeated the Puddings by the score of 6-5 at Chili Peppers Ballpark. Bond went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs. UCLA pitcher Nick Stanton got the win. He's now 1-1. Ronald Gawley was tagged with the loss. Layla Vail recorded his 12th save for UCLA.

Logan Bousquet chipped in a solo home run for UCLA in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Bousquet said after the game.

The Chili Peppers sit in first place in the Western 10 Conference with a record of 33-7.
