Shastas Get Better of Axe, 2-0
|
Tony Farrell never let the Axe get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Shastas to a win, 2-0. The win puts Houston at 30-9 this season.
Roy Conley, who is tied for 6th in the USCBA COL in bases on balls with 21, took Stanford hurler Ben Janssen deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Shastas on top, 2-0. In all, Conley had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Conley told the Houston Gazette.
