Dragons Need Extra Innings to Top Red Dawns, 2-1
The Michigan Red Dawns wasted an inspired, 5.1-inning effort from starter Albert Johnson, falling, 2-1, to the UAB Dragons in 11 innings at Alabama-Birmingham Grounds. The Dragons now own a record of 12-24.

The Dragons got a clutch hit from designated hitter Rick Sykes. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dragons.

"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Sykes.
