Patton Lifts Cathedrals to 7-4 Win
Thanks in large part to left fielder Steve Patton, the Pittsburgh Cathedrals beat the Memphis Belles, 7-4. Patton was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Raúl Granados. He's now 3-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits for the Cathedrals. Ben O'Brien picked up his 11th save of the season.

The Cathedrals got a big at-bat from designated hitter Joe Howell. For the game, Howell was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Howell told the Pittsburgh Observer.

The Cathedrals now have a record of 18-15.
