Rutherford Goes Deep Twice in 7-3 Archers Win
Getting offensive support from Jeremy Rutherford, the Iowa Archers topped the Purdue Astronauts, 7-3. Rutherford slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Archers. Dave Ortega earned the save, his 2nd. After today's action, Iowa sits at 21-12, while Purdue falls to 15-18.

Iowa used the timely hitting of Bill Heath to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Archers ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Heath told the Iowa Today.
