5-1 Loss to Unifiers Extends St. John's Losing Streak

Another game, another loss for the struggling St. John's Kaisers.
The St. John's Kaisers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bill Brooks into a win. Instead, the Cincinnati Unifiers prevailed, 5-1. Brooks threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. Cincinnati reliever Jack King got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Erwin Doyle was tagged with the loss. Eric Lynch earned the save for Cincinnati.
Doug Thomas came through with a big-time hit for Cincinnati. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I want us to come out, have fun, hit some balls, and score. We're having a tough time," said Álex Díaz, the St. John's manager.
The Unifiers go to 15-19, putting them 6th in the Eastern Seaboard Conference.
