Big Day for Vásquez in 10-4 Red Dawns Win
The timely hitting of Jason Vásquez helped the Michigan Red Dawns down the Notre Dame Evangelists, 10-4. Vásquez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 4 times for the Red Dawns. The winner was Tony Cruz, who threw 82 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. The Red Dawns are now 17-17, while the Evangelists fall to 14-20.

Art Kilvington had a big bases-clearing triple for the Red Dawns in the bottom of the second inning. With Michigan trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from David Woods, who is tied for 10th in the USCBA COL with a 7.9 K/9 rate, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Dawns ahead, 3-1.

Vásquez attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
