Lucky Rodents Need Extra Innings to Top Starbursts, 4-3
|
Lucky Rodents Ballpark was host to some action-packed drama.
Minnesota designated hitter Jorge Torres picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Villanova Starbursts, 4-3, in 10 innings. By defeating Villanova, the 8th-place Lucky Rodents improved to 15-19.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Torres hit a splitter from Ernie Robinson for a run-scoring double. The Lucky Rodents, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Lucky Rodents manager Mason Cartwright.
