Though he had a stellar game, Patrick Dean could not prevent his team, the Michigan State Persians, from losing, 8-6, to the Rutgers Old Queens. Dean was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Spencer Moore picked up the win in relief. John Richardson took the loss for Michigan State. Rutgers is now 16-16, while Michigan State is 20-12.

Rutgers left fielder Luis Gonzáles contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Old Queens ahead, 4-2.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rutgers manager Will González.
