Skidding Solar Angels Lose 6th Straight
|
The 2042 season is getting uglier for Arizona State.
UCONN beat Arizona State at Klondikes Ballpark, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to center fielder Tommy Greene. He was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs. UCONN reliever Ryan King was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Tony Pérez. The save was credited to Christian Brown, his 1st.
Had José Valentín not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Valentín hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Klondikes.
Greene attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
The slumping Solar Angels have dropped 6 in a row.
