Patterson belts 2 home runs to Fuel Shastas Offense
|
Houston third baseman Mark Patterson was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Oregon State Dambusters. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Shastas. The winning pitcher was Mike Cruz. His record now stands at 4-0. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Shastas. The Shastas go to 25-5, putting them first in the American Heartland Conference.
With Houston leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Patterson hit a fastball from Josh Jackson for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Shastas ahead, 5-0.
"We were the better team," crowed Patterson.
