Starbursts Deal Ohio State 6-3 Defeat
|
Ballpark of Ohio State was the site for United States Collegiate Baseball Association action featuring the Ohio State Scarlet Brutes and Villanova Starbursts.
The Villanova Starbursts dealt the Ohio State Scarlet Brutes a 6-3 loss at Ballpark of Ohio State. Tony Castro, who is tied for 8th in the USCBA COL in extra base hits with 19, was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Parker Wagner went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 3-2 this season.
With Villanova leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Castro hit a changeup from Manolo Francisco for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Starbursts ahead, 5-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Castro.
Villanova is in second place in the Eastern Seaboard Conference with a record of 18-11.
