The Purdue Astronauts overcame a good performance by Houston first baseman Jon Lyons to knock off Houston, 10-6, in 10 innings at Shastas Ballpark. Lyons belted 2 home runs. The win belonged to Greg Nance in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rod Walker took the loss for Houston. The Astronauts, at 11-17, sit in 9th place in the Perfect 10 Conference.

Paco Martínez chipped in a run-scoring hit-by-pitch for Purdue in the top of the tenth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
