Conley Homers Twice in 12-4 Shastas Win
Roy Conley was instrumental in his team's 12-4 triumph over the Purdue Astronauts. The designated hitter was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Houston Shastas. Houston pitcher Karl Garrick got the win, upping his record to 1-0. John Christian got the loss. The first-place Shastas have won 9 straight.

Ricky Rutledge, who is tied for 10th in the USCBA COL with a .379 batting average, helped out the Houston cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

"That's what makes it fun -- everybody's jacked up because of the way we've been winning," said Houston manager Yosuke Nakagawa.
