Sherpas Drop 2-1 Decision to Persians
The West Virginia Sherpas wasted an inspired, 6-inning effort from starter David Hatcher, falling, 2-1, to the Michigan State Persians at Persians Ballpark. Michigan State's record now stands at 18-10, placing them second in the Perfect 10 Conference.

The Persians got a big at-bat from left fielder Cooper Pope. For the game, Pope was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Michigan State a 1-0 lead.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped West Virginia manager Raúl Vega. "Obviously."
