Sea Dawgs Rally Late to Clip Iowa
Iowa wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ed Baxter, falling to the East Carolina Sea Dawgs, 3-2. Baxter threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The save went to Joel Cardenas, number 6 for him. After today's action, East Carolina sits at 18-10; Iowa slips to 17-11.

Wes Piper came through with a big-time hit for East Carolina. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," Piper said.
