Cathedrals Get Clonked by Campaniles, 10-8
|
The California Campaniles outlasted Josh Forcier and the Pittsburgh Cathedrals, 10-8. Forcier was impressive in the loss. The Pittsburgh first baseman was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Victor Maxwell snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. The Campaniles now have a record of 17-6 with the win over Pittsburgh.
Ron Fields helped out the California cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said California manager Fred Hogan. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
