Witt Lifts Pride to 11-5 Win
Matt Witt helped his team muscle past the Iowa Archers, 11-5. In the game, the Penn State shortstop was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 7. Dennis Cochran earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The first-place Pride sport a record of 18-6.

In the top of the eighth, Witt put his team in front with his 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Tony Johnson, made it 8-5, Penn State.

"We're in for a photo finish, I think," said Witt. "Time to play our best ball."
