In a tight contest at Cathedrals Ballpark, the UCLA Chili Peppers edged the Pittsburgh Cathedrals by the score of 5-4. UCLA designated hitter Johnny Matthews, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Jackson Beatty, 3-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. Van Allen was credited with the save for UCLA, his 7th of the season.
