Michigan State 13-6 After Beating Klondikes
The Michigan State Persians soundly defeated the UCONN Klondikes, 11-3, at Persians Ballpark. Andrés Sanders let his bat do the talking. He went 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Michigan State. The winner was Michigan State reliever Gordon DeBurge, now 1-0. The loser was Derek Harper. The last-place Klondikes now sit at 5-14.

David Besley had a big 2-run double for the Persians in the bottom of the third inning. With Michigan State trailing 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Derek Harper and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Persians ahead, 4-3.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said UCONN manager Tomás Acevedo.
