Scarlet Brutes Clip Rampage, 2-1

The Ohio State Scarlet Brutes topped the Seton Hall Rampage, 2-1, in United States Collegiate Baseball Association action at Ballpark of Ohio State. The standout performance belonged to Ohio State pitcher and Ichikawa, Japan, native Masamune Kurihara. The winner in relief was Ken Dunn. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Ohio State has an impressive 13-6 record.
The Rampage had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Scarlet Brutes going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old left fielder Javier Guerra came to the plate. Guerra hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 fastball from Seton Hall hurler Steven Ford. It was Guerra's 4th double of the year.
"This team is on a mission," said Guerra, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
