Kaisers Lose to McConaugheys in Walk-Off
The Marshall McConaugheys took St. John's pitcher Phil Gregory's best shot and still were able to claim a win at McConaugheys Ballpark. The final score had Marshall getting past the Kaisers, 3-2. Gregory went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. The win went to Ed Nelson in relief, making him now 2-1. Jason Sayer took the loss for St. John's. The McConaugheys improved their record to 13-6 with the win over St. John's.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Marshall first baseman António Montés, facing Jason Sayer, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the McConaugheys the 3-2 win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Montés said.
