Victors Again, Central Florida Win Streak at 8
|
The Central Florida Wicked Witches scored a tight, 2-1 win versus the Stanford Axe at Axe Ballpark. Central Florida pitcher Joey Keys held his own in the contest. Javier Guerrero picked up his 1st save of the season. The 4th-place Wicked Witches now have a record of 10-9.
Central Florida used a well-timed hit by Eddie Louviere to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Wicked Witches ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Good ballgame," said Stanford manager Sam Harvey. "But we came up on the short end."
