Aaron MacElfrish brought his A-game to help Iowa defeat the Cincinnati Unifiers, 6-0. The 5th-place Archers are now 10-7, the Unifiers 9-8.

The Archers got a big at-bat from second baseman Goro Sawada. For the game, Sawada went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Iowa a 3-0 lead.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Iowa skipper Pete Hodges.
