UCONN Klondikes starter David Rivas turned in an exceptional performance against the UAB Dragons at Alabama-Birmingham Grounds, resulting in a UCONN win, 3-1. Jerry Smith finished to wrap up his 1st save. Their 4-11 record puts the Klondikes last in the Eastern Seaboard Conference.
Johnny Phillips had a direct impact on the outcome. Phillips contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put UCONN up, 2-0.
"David threw the ball very, very well," said UCONN manager Tomás Acevedo.
