McConaugheys fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The Marshall McConaugheys outlasted the Purdue Astronauts, 5-4, in 10 innings. Marshall second baseman Paul Battle stood out with his performance. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. Ed Nelson earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Marshall. That's when Chris Sánchez hit a solo home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Alejandro Rodríguez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This game tested our mettle," said Battle.

The second-place McConaugheys hiked their record to 10-5.
