Poe Helps Palouse Knights Defeat Lucky Rodents, 5-1
|
The 5-1 Washington State win over Minnesota was due largely to Tom Poe. The Palouse Knights designated hitter went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Washington State starter Landon Nelson was credited with the win after throwing 77 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The Palouse Knights now have a record of 7-8.
Washington State took a 5-1 lead on Poe's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Anthony Collins in the top of the eighth, propelled Washington State to the win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Poe. "And not try to do too much."
