Lutes Send West Virginia Home with 6-3 Loss
The Arizona Lutes downed the West Virginia Sherpas, 6-3. The hitting star was shortstop Júlio Manuel. Manuel went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Lutes. Earning his 4th save of the year was Virgil Russell. Arizona currently is in 7th place in the Western 10 Conference at 7-8.

Steve Potter had a big 2-run home run for the Lutes in the bottom of the third inning. With Arizona trailing 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Sherman Espinosa and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Lutes on top, 3-2.

Manuel called the triumph "a good team win."
