Archers Score Late, Clip Purple Haze, 2-1

Domingo Luna never let the Purple Haze get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Archers to a win, 2-1. Miguel Paredes came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Clark Jones picked up the save, his 5th.
Jon Hamm, who is tied for 9th in the USCBA COL in hits with 20, contributed to the Iowa win with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"They were just a little bit better than us," Northwestern manager Anastasio Molina said.
The 6th-place Purple Haze now sit at 8-6.
