Trendsetters Turn Back Thoroughbreds, 4-2
|
New Orleans Trendsetters starter Joe Arnold pitched a strong game against the Kentucky Thoroughbreds at New Frontier Park, leading the Trendsetters to victory, 4-2. Picking up the save was Nathan Gallard, his 2nd. New Orleans currently is in 4th place in the Imperial League Dixie at 22-21.
The Trendsetters got a big at-bat from center fielder Ricardo Rojas. For the game, Rojas was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 2-1 lead.
"Joe throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said New Orleans manager Alfredo Vega.
