Pride Deal Montlake Malamutes 4-2 Setback
Penn State Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Washington Montlake Malamutes and Penn State Pride.

Washington shortstop Richard Flores had a good game, even if his team did not. The Montlake Malamutes dropped a 4-2 decision to Penn State at Penn State Grounds. Flores went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Samuel MacColl notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.

The Montlake Malamutes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Pride going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old right fielder José Martínez came to the plate. Martínez hit a 3-run home run on a full count cutter from Washington hurler Arthur Young. It was Martínez's 4th home run of the year.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Martínez.

At 10-3, Penn State is in first place in the Perfect 10 Conference.
