Thornton Jacks Two Home Runs in 7-5 West Virginia Win
West Virginia third baseman Bill Thornton made his presence felt in the 7-5 Sherpas triumph over the Stanford Axe. Thornton was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Blaine Jenkins notched his 4th save of the season. West Virginia currently is in 8th place in the Eastern Seaboard Conference at 5-9.

West Virginia took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Thornton hit a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season made the score 6-4, West Virginia.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Thornton told the West Virginia Herald.
