Illinois Gets Another L
The Villanova Starbursts got a marvelous performance from pitcher Ramón Bañuelos. The right-hander kept the Illinois offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-0 Villanova victory at Starbursts Ballpark. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Alex Gill. The last-place Chiefs have dropped 6 straight games.

Illinois had a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. With one out, Ed Pierce stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he hit into a double play. The score remained 2-0, Villanova. The Chiefs never could mount a comeback.
