Kaisers Earn 2-1 Home Win
|
Michael Harris played a key role in a gritty 2-1 St. John's Kaisers win against the Pittsburgh Cathedrals. The winning pitcher was Harris, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 2. The win moves St. John's to a record of 5-3.
Richard Walker had a big run-scoring double for the Kaisers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With St. John's leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Alejandro Martínez and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kaisers ahead, 2-0.
"Michael's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Álex Díaz, the Kaisers manager.
