Fleming Launches 2 Dingers, But Rice Wins
The Rice Puddings besoiled an otherwise fine performance by USC third baseman Josh Fleming by beating the Travelers, 15-11, at Puddings Ballpark. Fleming hit 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Theron Fox. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 1. Rice now has a record of 3-5.

Bartolo Castaneda had a big 2-run double for the Puddings in the bottom of the second inning. With Rice trailing 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Harrell and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Puddings ahead, 5-4.

USC manager António Gómez said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score in double digits, you expect to win the game."
