Howard Sizzles in No-Hitter
|
Cliff Howard was untouchable at Alabama-Birmingham Grounds, displaying a good fastball and wicked breaking balls in his 1-0 win against the Arizona Lutes. The UAB hurler did not allow a single hit, fanning 8 while walking 1.
"This is great," Howard told reporters after the game. "Every pitcher wants a no-hitter. I just wanted the win, but the no-hitter is a little extra icing on the victory cake."
