Scarlet Brutes Down Pride, 2-1

Ohio State starter Masamune Kurihara pitched well against the Penn State Pride at Ballpark of Ohio State. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. The win went to Bobby Stout in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rudolf Verheijen took the loss. Jeff Long closed the door for Ohio State, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Fred Gibbs drove in one run for Ohio State. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Rudolf Verheijen. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Gibbs.
The win gives Ohio State a record of 2-2.
