The Palm Springs Codgers racked up a win at The Oaks at Aera Field, bumping off the Bakersfield Bears, 3-0. Bang-xao Niu, who started for Palm Springs, pitched effectively for his team. The Codgers saw their record improve to 24-16.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Codgers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when shortstop Pu-la Au hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Oliver Flores and made the score 2-0, Codgers. Au went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan called it "a pretty good win."
