Lions Deal Underground 7-4 Setback
The Amsterdam Lions besoiled an otherwise fine performance by London second baseman Miguel Fernández by beating the Underground, 7-4, at Pearson Metropolitan Park. Fernández was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. The 4th-place Lions improved to 18-23.

Amsterdam used a well-timed hit by Iwao Yamamoto to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lions ahead, 6-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Keep grinding," said Yamamoto, "and good things are bound to happen."
