Bears Lose to Codgers, 5-1
|
The Palm Springs Codgers picked up a win at The Oaks at Aera Field, taking down the Bakersfield Bears, 5-1. Starting pitcher Yoshiaga Watanabe was a big reason why. Bob Miles, who is rated as the 76th best prospect by BNN, nailed down the save. Palm Springs, at 23-16, holds down second place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.
With two out in the top of the fourth, Javier Cervantes put Palm Springs in front, 2-0, with a run-scoring single. The Codgers went on to win the ballgame.
"The most important thing is that we won," Watanabe said.
