Arroyos Lose to Borealis in Walk-Off
The Yuma Arroyos wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter James McCoy, falling, 1-0, to the Aurora Borealis at Northern Lights Park. Héctor Gutiérrez, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The Arroyos, at 12-26, have lost 5 straight games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Gijsbert Verboven in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Terrence Brown to win the game for Aurora. The home crowd went nuts.

"The Borealis earned it," said Yuma manager Kiyohisa Takeda. "Hats off to them."
