Calzones of Laredo Edged, 7-5, by Florida
|
The Florida Farstriders weathered a fine game by San Antonio second baseman José Lópes to upend the Calzones of Laredo, 7-5, at Elysian Fields. Lópes was 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. León Zamora earned the save, his 10th. The Farstriders win now puts them at 30-11.
Florida used a timely hit from Adolph Glotz to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Farstriders ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Glotz told the Florida Daily.
