Wind Dancers 6-2 Victors Over Ghosts
|
The Toyama Wind Dancers locked up a win at Castle of Cagliostro, knocking off the Niihama-shi Ghosts, 6-2. On the mound for Toyama was right-hander Owen Barse. He played a major role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Barse, now 2-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. The Wind Dancers saw their win-loss record go to 24-17. At the same time, the Ghosts fell to 23-17.
Toyama took a 5-2 lead on Ryosei Saito's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Saito hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Niihama-shi pitcher Geoffrey Bowman visibly frustrated.
"The team always comes first," Saito told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
