Jardineros Scratch Out 1-0 Win
|
The San Luis Potosi Jardineros picked up a win at San Luis Potosí Grounds, downing the Naucalpan Cafe Tacvbas, 1-0. On the mound for San Luis Potosi was left-hander Ramón Torres, who played a pivotal role in the win. Ángel Martínez finished to wrap up his 3rd save. San Luis Potosi, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
The Jardineros got a big boost from left fielder Miguel Batses who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Cafe Tacvbas hurler Héctor Rivera. It was his 5th RBI of the season and put San Luis Potosi on top, 1-0.
"Ramón gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said San Luis Potosi skipper Dave Copeland.
