Riding the 2-hit performance of the 25-year old shortstop Gerald Contaldo, the San Juan Coqui stopped the Gloucester Fishermen, 5-2. Manuel Canales picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Norishige Ito suffered the loss. Gloucester drops to 3-2.

Contaldo had a timely hit for San Juan in the top of the seventh. With San Juan trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch knuckleball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 3-2, San Juan.

San Juan manager Tommy Taylor was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
